Are you an experienced Sous looking for a change and a chance to develop as a chef and grow both professionally and personally? My client is a modern and stylish 90-seater restaurant based in Edgbaston, and are looking for a talented individual to join their Rosette-level team!
Formerly owners of a 3-rosette restaurant, which unfortunately closed due to Covid, my client has now opened this restaurant to provide high-quality food and high-quality service to its visitors.
The main responsibilities of the Sous:
- Preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality meals to the set standard, being consistent in all aspects of your service.
- Fitting into the Kitchen Management team, guiding your team and taking control in absence of Head Chef.
- Identifying chefs with talent, nurturing and guiding them to grow professionally and personally.
- Monitoring stock and orders, ensuring the kitchen is always prepared to deliver the perfect service.
- Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Safety protocol are adhered to.
The ideal Sous chef will:
- Be an experienced chef with ambition and determination.
- Have experience working in a high-paced fine dining environment.
- Have experience using fresh produce daily.
- Be creative and enthusiastic, with the ability of using this to create new interesting menu items.
The role comes with plenty of benefits, including a share of service charge averaging around £400 per month, all overtime is paid, and Christmas and Boxing Day are guaranteed off every year!
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: 40 hours a week, 5/7 days (Mondays off, other days rotated each week)
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum depending on experience.
